Stuffed Mushrooms and Spinach Artichoke Dip with Fresh Take (plus a giveaway!)

I don’t think it will come as a huge surprise to many of you who regularly read my blog, but I am a big fan of semi-homemade recipes. As much as I LOVE making items 100% from scratch, if there is a product that can help me to get the job done in a shorter amount of time, I am probably going to check it out. Especially if I’m preparing for an evening of entertaining!

Pretty One Piece Bathing Suits

It’s undeniable: beach and pool season is almost upon us! Well, if you live in Florida like I do, it IS already here. The temperatures are already in the 80s and creeping toward 90 each and every day.

I have to admit – I used to think that one piece bathing suits were for “older individuals,” if you will. I dreaded the day I’d be shopping for one. Perhaps there has been a change in me, or perhaps it is just because the makers of bathing suits have realized their potential…but I have been absolutely amazed with the adorable one piece options available! They can be cute, they can be flattering, and they can even be sexy (plunging necklines, anyone?). I actually find myself liking them more than the bikini options I see. From floral, to graphic prints, to polka dots, to solids…there are so many to choose from. I don’t know if I can pick one favorite from the bunch…perhaps #2 or #20. Which would you choose?

Roasted Garlic and Bacon Guacamole for #SundaySupper

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Are you ready to shake up some margaritas, scoop some guacamole, and partake in some tacos? I know I am. So, I already shared my recipes for classic guacamole and pineapple guacamole earlier this week. Today, I have one last guacamole version to add to your Cinco de Mayo party (or really, just any day in general).

Roasted Garlic and Bacon Guacamole

Since the pineapple guacamole is sweet, I decided moving toward a more savory version was a must. And I thought it might be a good idea to incorporate two other awesome ingredients: bacon…and garlic. I mean, you can’t go wrong with either of them, can you? I’ve become a huge fan of roasting garlic in my oven lately – there are a lot of uses for it aside from this guacamole! Have you tried it out yourself? Roasting the garlic in general makes your kitchen smell insanely good. I spread the roasted garlic on top of my pizza crusts quite often, I’ve added it to a white bean dip – oh yum! Heck, I’d even just eat the roasted garlic straight up on some bread with olive oil…oh garlic, how I love you. But enough about that…how about this roasted garlic and bacon guacamole? It might be my favorite use of roasted garlic to date.

Phebus Torrontes: wine that won’t break the bank

Today I thought I’d dive into a new type of post here on the blog. I want to begin with a small disclaimer: I am not a wine expert. I am simply a consumer of wine and I absolutely love the experience that wine gives you. I love sampling new flavors, discovering new bottles, and learning what dishes are the perfect pairing for them. And, just like my style…I don’t think that you need to break the bank to have something great. There are so many amazing wines out there that are affordably priced, so I thought I’d begin to share some of the ones I’ve sampled. And – none of them are over $20 in price…I only spend more than that on bottles of wine for special occasions.
