Are you prepared for this week’s holiday? I have to admit: Thanksgiving kind of snuck up on me, but I’m quite ready to spend some time relaxing and spending quality time with family.
One essential component of Thanksgiving at our house happens to be the wine. Selecting the perfect bottle (or bottles) to complement the meal is essential.
I recently had the pleasure of sampling Dead Bolt Winemaker’s Blend and found it quite pleasant! This California red wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petit Syrah, and Shiraz. The exact percentages of each are under lock and key though…or behind the “dead bolt,” if you will!
There are some snacks and sweet treats that are just ridiculously addictive. For me, puppy chow (aka muddy buddies) is one of those delights. There is something SO AMAZING about the crunch of the cereal, paired with the chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. Drool.
Now, puppy chow is traditionally made with peanut butter and chocolate melted together. And I love that combination, don’t get me wrong. It is glorious in so many ways. But I got to thinking: what about….Nutella??? I mean, why not? I was too tempted to NOT try out a chocolate and Nutella combination with puppy chow. The results? Oh so very good.
Every girl needs a little bit of bling in her jewelry wardrobe; wouldn’t you agree?
Although I don’t consider myself to be the kind of girl who dons sparkly jewelry every day, I absolutely LOVE a bit of bling for a special occasion. I wish I could report that I’ve successfully selected a dress to wear to my brother’s wedding next month, but I’m still stuck on that task. Regardless of the dress I select though, I know I’ll be in need of some sparkle to add to it, as all of the dresses in my final selection are pretty much solid color fabrics. I like the idea of being able to pair the dress with a statement necklace or bracelet to take it up another notch.
So, today I rounded up a selection of sparkly items to satisfy the magpie in you. Which piece would you choose?
Do you ever start a week and then immediately realize you didn’t have a chance to relax the entire weekend before? That is kind of how I feel this week. My weekend was consumed with a little event that happened on Sunday. I was a part of a chili cook off. Who would have thought?
To be honest, I was surprised to even be a part of the event! I submitted my poblano turkey chili recipe on a whim when the sponsors tweeted to me about it. A few weeks later, I received a call telling me I was a regional finalist. Ok then!
