Today, we’re talking belts.
For me, belts have only RECENTLY become a beloved accessory in my wardrobe. For the longest time, I just didn’t like them. I kept telling myself, “if I need something to hold my pants up, they clearly don’t fit properly.” I was happy to have my pants and skirts hold their own without being cinched with a belt.
But oh my: the belts that are in stores nowadays! From bright colors to patterns to embellishments, belts can pretty much be a statement piece on your outfit all on their own. Yes, there is still the basic black or brown belt you can wear, but why not go bold? I am seriously loving some of the gorgeous waist cinchers for sale lately. I think I need a spotted belt in my collection very soon…they’re calling my name!

And they’re not just for pants with belt loops. A belt placed around the smallest spot in your waist can really help to define it and create an hourglass shape. All of these pretty belts below would jazz up a simple dress. Personally…I’m loving the peplum – how fun would that be cinched around the waist of a little black dress?

Do you regularly wear belts with your outfits? Do you prefer a classic black/brown, or do you enjoy pops of color or pattern?
