Rachel Zoe’s “Major Must Haves” from Jockey

No matter what shape or size you may be, there is something wonderful about wearing a good piece of shapewear. Having the right undergarments as the basis of your attire not only helps you to look polished and put together, but they also inspire confidence. Jockey recently partnered with Rachel Zoe to create a new line of shapewear and intimates called “Major Must Haves,” and I was very eager to test out the curated products they put together!

When I consider Jockey as a brand, I immediately think of comfort. I think of cotton, maybe a bit of stretch, and items I would wear every day. And now, with this partnership with Rachel Zoe, “fashion-focused” can be added to that list. Style AND sophistication? Yes, please.

I was lucky enough to receive a sampling of some of the intimates and shapewear pieces from Rachel Zoe’s “Major Must Haves” from Jockey line, and I was very pleased from the moment I first laid eyes on them. I’ll start with the intimates:

The intimates line includes panties (not bras) in a variety of styles and materials. There are bikinis, thongs, hipsters, and boyshorts. The bottoms feature a “cheeky” cut, which is more modern than the standard and is definitely something I appreciate. I’d like to think of myself as a modern woman, after all!

I received a bikini and a thong from the “Major Must Haves” line, and both arrived in fun graphic patterns: chevrons and diamond shapes! They are made from 92% microfiber modal and 8% spandex, so this is definitely comfort paired with fashion. (Having spandex involved really helps, in my opinion!) They sit comfortably on the body and don’t bunch under clothing, which is key! They are great for everyday wear, while still featuring feminine details.

Some styles of the undergarments also come in a 78% nylon and 22% spandex version, featuring a lace waistband. I received a pair of the boyshorts in this style, and I absolutely adore them! The material is thin and lays very smooth; these are perfect for wearing underneath a swingy dress or skirt. This is my personal favorite style of undergarment. They are just so comfortable (and cute)! I’m a big fan of the beautiful eggplant hue paired with lavender accents on this particular pair.

Moving on to the shapewear! I found that the “Major Must Haves” shapewear pieces blended the comfort of cotton with a sense of control. What I found to be really unique about these pieces was the paneled design! Take a look at the Strappy Tank:

This tank features a patented 3-panel design. The top and bottom panels are made from a cotton spandex, and the middle section is the shapewear panel to compress the tummy. What a smart idea!

This tank can be worn underneath a sweater or button-down shirt in place of your regular camisole, and no one would ever know you’re wearing shapewear since the top and bottom panels are the cotton spandex material. Another plus? The tank is made to wear with a bra (and since there is only compression material in the tummy, your bust area won’t feel pressed/squished). The tanks come in a variety of colors as well, so you can match pretty much any outfit!

The Slip Shaper is another great product and is similar to the Strappy Tank. Again, the bodice portion features the cotton spandex material so your bust is not compressed.

It has an empire waistline, and the bottom portion of the slip is where the control kicks in, shaping the tummy, hips, and thighs. It certainly hugs my curves in the right way.

There is another feature on the Slip Shaper that I really appreciated: the silicone gripper!!! There is a thin strip of silicone on the inside hem on the bottom of the slip. This gripper sticks to your thighs and ensures that the slip does not ride up over the course of the day. Brilliant!

Finally, my personal favorite piece from the shapewear line: the Tummy Short!

These shorts would be my go-to to wear underneath a dress when I’m wanting a bit more control than the boyshorts in the intimates line would provide me. The 2-ply tummy panel features 360 degrees of control, and the legs have a single-ply treatment that shape without squeezing.

I really love that the shorts are also not too long; they hit around mid-thigh, so you don’t have to worry about them peeking out underneath a knee-length skirt or dress. I know I’ll continue to wear these shorts as time goes on; they’re fabulous!

Overall, I’m quite excited about Rachel Zoe’s “Major Must Haves” from Jockey collaboration. The intimates and shapewear are both comfortable and fashion-focused. There are shapes and styles to suit a variety of cuts of clothing, and you can definitely step out on the town feeling confident in them. I know I will!

I wish I’d worn it at my wedding!! I haven’t worn shapewear, but I’m all over them once the baby comes. Very interested in the tanks up there with extra tummy compression. Going to need it!!

A wedding I went to where I never felt like I could eat because my dress was so tight. I have Spanx but I hate how long they are.

When I was the matron of honor at my friends’ vows, I wish I’d had these shapers to help. I remember I picked something frumpy and over-sized because I didn’t feel I looked good in my ‘nice’ clothes due to pregnancy.

I went to a business dinner a few years back and the dress I wore, definitely needed shapewear.
Didn’t look too bad, but I was not comfortable the entire night. jslbrown_03 at yahoo dot com

I wish I had been wearing shapewear at a wedding we attended over the summer. I was wearing a beautiful (but super clingy) dress that I needed shapewear with… unfortunately my current shapewear squishes the girls flat and up into my chin. Not flattering!

I wish I had been wearing shapewear, post-baby at my son’s Kindergarten Graduation. I was wearing this really cute jersey wrap-dress, but when I passed a window at the school I realized that I looked like a Shar-pei in a dress.

Every day when I go to work I see the unattractive bulges and wish I looked firmer. I think shapewear would do the trick.

It would have been nice to have under my bridesmaid dress for my best friend’s wedding. The dress was sort of sheer and clingy and didn’t hide a thing. LOL
