Snowcat Shift
It doesn’t happen often, but every once in a while there is an occasion for me to get dressed up. My cousin’s wedding was one of those times.
Since the wedding was in Michigan, I was in need of a dress with sleeves. However, I didn’t want to go out and purchase a dress that would be worn only once. When I laid eyes on the Jules dress at J.Crew, I felt my heart skip a beat.
Not only did the pattern draw me in, but the shape was classic and comfortable. I loved the boat neck, the 3/4 sleeves, the knee length, and the POCKETS! I love a dress with pockets, don’t you? What was even better was the price: I snagged this frock on sale for less than the price currently listed. Figuring out what to wear to the wedding was simple: a pair of hot pink pumps were pretty much all I needed to accessorize (along with a black envelope clutch). With such a bold print on the dress, I didn’t need much jewelry – the shift itself was the star!
I allowed myself to invest in this dress because of its versatility. I can wear it dressed up with pumps (as pictured), or wear it with a pair of flats on a more casual day. When the weather cools down even more, a pair of black tights or leggings will be another great addition…maybe even with a pair of boots. Hopefully in the coming months I’ll be showing you more looks that I create with this dress!
