Beachin it

It’s that time of the year yet again…beach time! It fills me with glee when the weather heats up enough for me to start visiting the beach again. It’s prime weather here in Florida, so I’ve been breaking out the swimwear lately!

Even though I have a large drawer filled with various tops and bottoms, I always end up purchasing a few new pieces each year: I get a lot of wear out of my bikinis (visiting the beach at least once a week can do that), and I’ve grown to have a bit of brand loyalty over the years. This particular combination is my beach wardrobe staple:

My personal favorites: the Belle Bandeau top ($24-26) and the Cheeky Hipkini bottoms ($18-20) from Victoria’s Secret. I kid you not: I own 5 of the bandeau tops alone. The cheeky bottoms are definitely my favorite style: if you’re like me and have a hard time finding bottoms that don’t look a little…saggy…the cheeky style eliminates that problem completely (as long as you aren’t afraid to show a little cheek). The Beach Sexy line from Victoria’s Secret is perfect for mixing and matching: I have bought a few solid pieces and a few print ones…I mix them around constantly for new looks! Love it.

If you don’t want to go the Victoria’s Secret route, I am constantly amazed by the adorable options that Target has nowadays! My only complaint is that they only run in sizes from Small-XLarge. I wish they offered a bit more extended sizing options! If I could pick up a bikini combo, here is what I would mix and match together:

Stripe bandeau top: Mossimo $17.99

Floral print hipster bottom: Xhilaration $14.99

I do still drool over a few options you can find at Anthropologie – they are a bit pricy, but oh so pretty!

Rhapsody bikini: $165 top/$65 bottom

Vivid Bits maillot: $328 (I don’t wear one piece suits, but this one makes me want to!)

And of course, you might need a few fun beach accessories on top of the swimwear: I always love a good tunic cover-up and some funky sandals!

I saw these beaded sandals from GAP this weekend – I am in love!

V-Neck gauze tunic: Old Navy – $15.94

What are your swimwear staples? Are there any brands that you continue to go back to year after year?

It’s probably good that there isn’t a 2 piece version, because then I’d have it in my shopping cart very quickly…

I personally love the mixing and matching of tops and bottoms.
